چکیده
Introduction: Ring-enhancing lesions is the most common abnormality faced in neuro-imaging. Imaging modalities commonly used to diagnose such are Computed Tomography (CT) and MRI. However, these considered challenging for radiologists. Diagnosing ring enhancing by conventional MRI challenging, especially when neoplastic, non-neoplastic infections be differentiated. Differentiation between tuberculoma neurocysticercosis still a problem radiologist as both look similar on Magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) may able clearly differentiate them based metabolite level. Present study was conducted characteristics of various brain using magnetic infections, inflammatory vascular Materials Methods: 50 patients age 10 70 years diagnosed with MR studies fulfilling inclusion exclusion criteria were enrolled. scan performed GE optima 360-16 channel all. Single voxel instead multi-voxel which placed lesion way that maximum area lesion, its margin normal tissue will covered.Observations Results: Primary Brain Tumors found 16 (32%) cases, Metastasis 22 (44%), Abscess 8 (16%), Neurocysticercosis (NCC) 2 (4%), Tuberculoma 1 (2%) & Tumefactive Demyelination case. In majority cases i.e. 38 (76%) size

Magnetic resonance spectroscopy in ring enhancing lesions.
We report a 4 year old girl with ring enhancing lesions in brain CT, initially diagnosed as neurocysticercosis but did not respond to cysticidal therapy. A Magnetic resonance spectropscopy (MRS) revealed lipid peaks suggestive of tuberculoma which was successfully treated with antituberculosis therapy. This report highlights the role of MRS in the diagnosis of ring enhancing lesios.
متن کاملApplication of magnetic resonance spectroscopy for evaluating metabolic alteration in anterior cingulate cortex in Alzheimer's disease
Introduction: Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the most common cause of dementia worldwide. Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is often the prodromal stage to AD. Most patients with MCI harbor the pathologic changes of AD and demonstrate transition to AD at a rate of 10–15% per year. Accumulating evidence indicates that the asymmetry changes of left and right brain have happened in the early stage of A...
متن کاملSegmentation of Magnetic Resonance Brain Imaging Based on Graph Theory
Introduction: Segmentation of brain images especially from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is an essential requirement in medical imaging since the tissues, edges, and boundaries between them are ambiguous and difficult to detect, due to the proximity of the brightness levels of the images. Material and Methods: In this paper, the graph-base...
متن کاملAnalysis of Memory-Related Brain Activation Maps in Sleep-Depriveation using Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Background and purpose: Insomnia is a common sleep disorder with negative consequences such as decreased quality of life. In this study, the effect of sleep deprivation on memory in both young and older adults was investigated using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). Materials and methods: In this retrospective study, fMRI data of 40 healthy subjects (17 young and 23 older people) w...
